Community Meetings

Gwydir Shire Council has resolved to hold the following cycle of Community Meetings. The dates of the meetings are:

  • Warialda Rail Sporting Clubhouse Monday 20th February 2012 at 4.30pm
  • Warialda Memorial Hall Monday 20th February 2012 at 6.00pm
  • Coolatai Hall Tuesday 21st February 2012 at 6.00pm
  • Upper Horton Sports club Wednesday 22rd February 2012 at 6.00pm
  • Bingara at the Roxy  Thursday 23rd February 2012 at 6.00pm
  • Croppa Creek Bowls Club  Monday 27th February 2012 at 6.00pm
  • Gravesend Hall Tuesday 28th February 2012 at 6.00pm
  • North Star Club Wednesday 29th February 2012 at 6.00pm

Clean Up Australia Day

clean_up_AusCLEAN UP AUSTRALIA DAY 2012

Clean Up Australia is calling on residents and groups in the Gwydir Shire to register sites now for Clean Up Day, Sunday 4 March 2012.

Clean Up Australia Day is a practical way for individuals, groups, families, sports groups, church groups to make a difference in their local environment and help put rubbish away for good. Council will be assisting volunteers by picking up collected material from sites on Monday 5th March 2012.

125th Anniversary Campbell Bridge Bingara

14th April, 2012 marks the 125th Anniversary of Campbell Bridge in Bingara. Festivities have been planned for the day with Guest Speakers, entertainment and a BBQ by the bridge. A full program of the day will be published once finalised.

Bingara Orange Festival

orange_festMark it in your calendar. The Bingara Orange Festival will be held on 30th June, 2012. The theme this year is 'Education' coinciding with the Bingara School Reunion to be held on the Saturday evening. Once again, the Busking Competition and the Orange Cook Off will be a feature of the festival. A full program will be published closer to the date.

Earthworks are currently being undertaken at the Living Classroom (Bingara Common).  These earthworks will be completed in two stages.  Firstly, to dramatically increase the capacity of the dams onsite, and secondly to capture stormwater from the southern area of town.
