There are many, many wonderful sites and interesting places to go in the Gwydir Shire. The Gwydir Shire has a diverse range of birds from Upper Horton through to the Queensland border you'll find many beautiful and sometimes rare breeds.

The natural geological wonders of the Gwydir shire are also well known from the gold and diamond mines to the unusual rock formations.
